Wireless Exchange
Connector
|
The Infinite Connector for Microsoft Exchange
is a powerful application that extends the reach of Microsoft Exchange email
and Personal Information Management (PIM) to mobile users. Companies can
access and manage email, along with personal calendars, contacts, task lists,
employee directories, and much more – from any wireless device.
Features
 |
Email Messaging
The Infinite Connector for
Microsoft Exchange allows users to access and manage email while out of
the office. Mobile workers are able to view, create, reply, and forward
any email message from any type of wireless device. In addition, access
to all personal messaging folders provides comprehensive control over
emails and documents. |

|
 |
Exchange Global Address List
(GAL)
The Exchange Global Address List
(GAL) is automatically accessible from a mobile device, and provides
access to employee names, phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses
and more. In addition, users can perform a look-up and select a phone
number or email address to auto-call or auto-address email messages.
Secure Information is accessed at the source Exchange account,
eliminating redundant mailboxes, which create inherent security risks.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
and Transport Layer Security (TLS) are used
to ensure data encryption and secure transmission of information. |
|
 |
Real-time
Microsoft Exchange mailboxes are
accessed in real-time eliminating the need to synchronize information on
the device. Information is reviewed and updated to the source mailbox,
keeping the central message store consistently up-to-date. Messages that
are created and deleted are updated directly to the user's Exchange
mailbox. |
|
 |
Device Compatible
The Infinite Connector for
Microsoft Exchange is compatible with virtually all wireless devices,
including Internet-enabled mobile phones, Handhelds, Pocket PCs, and
Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). |
|
 |
Voice Integration
The
Infinite Voice Connector
extends the functionality of the Infinite Connector for Microsoft
Exchange by providing voice reply messaging options and text-to-speech
email conversion. With the Infinite Voice Connector, users can read
email messages on their Internet-enabled mobile phone, then simply reply
to the sender with a voice response – rather than manually enter a
response on the telephone keypad. Using the text-to-speech engine, the
system converts email messages to speech, allowing users to listen,
forward, and respond to messages using any touch-tone telephone. |

How It Works
The Infinite Connector for
Microsoft Exchange is a server-based application that integrates seamlessly
with Microsoft Exchange, providing access to functionality that was
traditionally limited to the desktop. The installation process is simple and
straightforward and the applications all reside behind the corporate firewall.
The Infinite Connector for
Microsoft Exchange acts as an email client proxy on behalf of the wireless
user, providing the user with a view into their mailbox that is optimized for
the small displays and bandwidth constraints of wireless environments. Through
this proxy, the user interacts directly with their mailbox, performing all of
the standard actions such as reading, replying to, forwarding, and deleting
messages. All actions are carried out real time, with updates recorded
immediately in the user's mailbox. If the underlying mail system tracks
deleted messages in a deleted folder, then messages deleted from the wireless
device are also moved into this folder. Similarly, if a "sent messages" folder
exists, outbound messages from the wireless device are logged in the
appropriate folder.
Client software is not required
on the wireless device, enabling easy deployment to users throughout the
organization. Users simply enter the URL for the Infinite Mobile Delivery
Server on their browser-enabled mobile phone or wireless PDA, enter their
existing Exchange user-name and password, and are automatically presented with
their own email inbox.

Understanding the Infinite Connector for Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft Exchange mailboxes are accessed in
real-time from the wireless device, eliminating the need to synchronize
information on the device. Information is reviewed and updated on the user's
source mailbox so the central message store is always up-to-date. Messages
that are created and deleted are updated directly to the user's Exchange
mailbox.
Information is accessed at the source
Exchange account, eliminating the need for creating redundant mailboxes, which
create inherent security risks, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer
Security (TLS) can be used to ensure data encryption and secure transmission
of information.
